Beaches
Minies beach consists of three sandy beaches with few pebbles, found 7 km south of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia.
Lepeda beach is at the south of Lixouri, 2 km away. It is a sandy beach with red sand and crystal clear waters.
The natural extension of Makris Gialos is the Beach of Platis Gialos (Wide Beach).
After Foki Bay, Emblisi is the next closest beach to Fiscardo. Not an easy walk as it consists of a fair uphill trek on both legs of the journey.
Paliostafida is one of the least known beaches of Kefalonia. It is located only 3 km from Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia.
A picturesque and easily accessed beach within a five minute drive from Fiscardo that consists of small strips of pebbles with a stunning view to the crystal clear waters. An olive tree forest comes down to the beach offering natural shade to the visitors.
Next to the cosmopolitan beach of Makris Gialos, in Lassi area is the small beach of Gradakia.
The beach became famous through the movie “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” with the name “Pelagia Beach”. The beach was used in the film poster and in the first scene of the movie.
