After Foki Bay, Emblisi is the next closest beach to Fiscardo. Not an easy walk as it consists of a fair uphill trek on both legs of the journey.

The beach became famous through the movie “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” with the name “Pelagia Beach”. The beach was used in the film poster and in the first scene of the movie.

There are many churches of remarkable cultural and architectural value in Pilaros. Among these is the Monastery of Anatolikou (or “Antelikou” as the locals call it), which is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

Along the coast from Sami towards Agia Efimia one can find several bays for swimming; first and largest of them is the beach of Agia Paraskevi.

The Monastery of Themata in Kefalonia, Ionian: Located on the slopes of Agia Dinati Mountain, the Monastery of Panagia Themata is one of the oldest monuments of Kefalonia, dating back to 1096.

The Koutsoupia Beach is a tropical beach and relatively unknown to the average visitor of Kefalonia.

Aragia beach is one of the beaches located in Poros, southeast of Kefalonia.

A picturesque and easily accessed beach within a five minute drive from Fiscardo that consists of small strips of pebbles with a stunning view to the crystal clear waters. An olive tree forest comes down to the beach offering natural shade to the visitors.

Near the port of Poros under the square of the village, there is a large beautiful beach with sand, deckchairs and umbrellas. Bars and restaurants can meet the requirements of swimmers and their tastes.
